Office removals in Fulham — closed Friday, open Monday

Fulham business is mostly small and specific: design studios off the New King's Road, consultancies above the shops on the Broadway, dental and physio practices tucked into converted buildings. None of them can afford to lose a trading day.

A commercial move is not a domestic move with more desks. The measure of success is different. Nobody minds if a household takes an extra hour; an office that cannot open on Monday morning costs real money, and the cost lands on you rather than on us. So the planning is heavier at the front and the execution is tighter.

What that looks like in practice for an SW6 business: we plan around your trading hours rather than ours, we work to a floor plan you have signed off, and we put the same crew on both ends so nobody arrives at the new office without knowing what came out of the old one.

How an office move runs

  1. Weeks before

A walk round both sites with whoever is running the move internally. We agree a labelling scheme, a numbered floor plan for the new office, and who signs off what. Building access outside hours gets confirmed with the managing agents at both ends.

  2. The week before

Crates delivered so staff can pack their own desks and files. Specialist crates for screens. Anything confidential goes into sealed, numbered crates with a signed inventory. Redundant furniture gets identified now, not on the night.

  3. The move itself

Usually an evening or a weekend. Hardware disconnected and wrapped, furniture dismantled where it needs to be, everything loaded against the plan. At the new site it goes straight to its numbered position rather than into a pile in reception.

  4. The morning after

Desks reassembled, screens and peripherals reconnected, crates in the right rooms. We stay on site while people arrive so anything in the wrong place gets moved immediately, then collect the empty crates once you have unpacked.

The Fulham building problem, commercial edition

Most Fulham offices are not in office buildings. They are in converted houses, in the floors above a parade of shops, or in a mews unit behind a street. That brings the same access questions as a residential move and adds a few: a shared staircase with other tenants who did not agree to your move, a front door that opens straight onto a red route, a lift that is contractually not to be used after a certain hour.

On the North End Road and the Fulham Road, loading restrictions apply at times of day that are exactly when you would like to be moving. Around the Broadway a weekend move can collide with a home fixture and the road closures that come with it. These are the things we check before we commit to a date, because a plan that ignores them is not a plan.

IT, honestly

We disconnect, wrap, transport and reconnect desktop hardware, monitors, docks and peripherals, and we label cables so the reconnection is not a guessing game. That covers most small-office moves completely.

What we do not do is pretend to be your IT department. If you have a rack, a comms cabinet, a server that needs shutting down in a particular order, or anything where a failed boot is a business problem, that needs your own engineer or a specialist, and we will work alongside them. We would rather say that up front than discover it at nine on a Sunday evening.

Files, records and anything confidential

Clinics and professional practices in Fulham hold records that cannot simply travel loose in a crate. The answer is sealed, numbered crates, an inventory signed at both ends, and the same crew throughout. If you need a documented chain of custody for a regulator or an insurer, tell us at the survey and we will set the paperwork up before the move rather than reconstructing it afterwards.

Storage between leases

Commercial leases rarely line up neatly. If you are out of one place before you are into the next, containerised storage holds furniture and archives sealed in the meantime. Same process as a household store, with the inventory built to match your asset list rather than a room list.

And if the business is relocating rather than moving down the road, the European moves page covers how we handle a move out of the country.

Straight answers

Moving a business out of SW6

Can you move an office outside working hours?

Yes, and for most Fulham businesses that is the whole point — an evening or a weekend, so you close on one site and open on the other without losing a trading day. Building access outside hours needs arranging with whoever holds the keys, and we will do that with them directly.

Do you supply crates?

Yes. Lidded, stackable crates delivered ahead of the move so your team can pack their own desks, plus specialist crates for screens and server kit. We collect the empties afterwards rather than leaving you with a stack of them.

What about the IT?

We disconnect, wrap, transport and reconnect desktop hardware, screens and peripherals. Anything that needs a network engineer — a rack, a comms cabinet, a server that has to come down cleanly — we will work alongside your IT people rather than pretending it is our call.

How do you keep track of what went where?

A floor plan and a labelling system agreed before the move. Every crate and every desk gets a destination label matched to a numbered position on the new plan, so on the first morning back people find their own things where they expect them.

Do you handle confidential files?

Yes — sealed and numbered crates, a signed inventory at both ends, and the same crew on both sides of the move. If you need a specific chain-of-custody record for compliance reasons, tell us at survey and we will set it up.

Send us both floor plans and we'll build the schedule.

Tell us your trading hours and the date you need to be operational. We will work backwards from there.
