Fulham & SW6 · house, flat and mansion-flat moves

Careful Fulham removals, done properly

We move households across SW6 — the terraces off Munster Road, the mansion flats around Hurlingham, the riverside flats at Sands End — and we plan the access before we plan anything else. Packing, storage and moves out to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal as well.

Why we survey first

In Fulham the move is easy. The access is the job.

Most of what goes wrong on an SW6 move goes wrong before anyone picks anything up. A mansion block turns out to have a goods lift that doesn't take a three-seater. A terrace on Bishops Road has a half-landing that stops a wardrobe dead. The bay outside is residents-only and the permit office wants notice.

So we look first. Someone comes round, walks the route the furniture will actually take, measures the awkward corner, and asks who holds the keys to the side gate. It takes an hour. It is the difference between a move that finishes when we said it would and one that doesn't.

By the time the van arrives the lift is booked, the porter knows we're coming, the floors are covered and the crew has the plan in their hand.

What we do

Five ways we move Fulham

Whole houses, single rooms, mansion flats with a porter at the door, a studio that needs emptying on a Saturday, and a container in storage while a chain sorts itself out. Same crew, same care, different shape of job.

The Fulham difference

Fulham moves, handled with care

SW6 is a specific kind of moving problem. Grand frontages with tight interiors, controlled parking on nearly every street, and a lot of buildings where someone else holds the key to the lift. This is the part of the job we are actually good at.

Mansion blocks
Hurlingham, Vanston Place, the blocks off Fulham Road. We speak to the porter before the day, book the lift where there is one, and cover the lobby and stairwell before a single box comes through the door. Where the managing agent wants our insurance certificate and a method statement, they get both without chasing.
Victorian terraces
The SW6 terrace is a known quantity — a narrow hall, a half-landing that defeats a wardrobe, a back bedroom you can only reach one way. We measure the turn on the survey and decide then whether a piece comes apart, goes out a window on a strop, or simply does not fit and needs saying so early.
Parking and permits
Most of Fulham is controlled. We apply to Hammersmith & Fulham for a bay suspension where the street needs one, put the cones out the night before, and pick a loading point that does not block a bus route or a school run. Around Stamford Bridge we plan around the fixture list.
Riverside developments
Imperial Wharf, Fulham Reach, the Townmead Road blocks. These are concierge buildings with booked goods lifts, loading bays with a height restriction and a building manager who wants the move slotted into a window. We deal with that side of it so you are not on the phone to a concierge desk on moving morning.
Careful handling
Blanket wrap and shrink for upholstery, corner protection on anything with a polished edge, purpose-built crates for mirrors, marble tops and framed art. Beds, wardrobes and tables come apart with the fixings bagged and taped to the piece they belong to, so nothing is hunting for a bolt at the other end.
Moves with children and pets
A lot of Fulham moves happen around a school term and a young family. We load the essentials box last so it comes off first, keep one room clear for the day, and work in an order that lets a nursery run or a nap still happen somewhere in the middle of it.

Where we work

Fulham & SW6, street by street

SW6 runs from the Broadway down to the river and across to the North End Road. Six pockets, six different moving problems. We also pick up along the Fulham Palace Road edge, and we cross the river for a drop-off without making a fuss about it.

  • Parsons Green

    SW6

Peterborough Road and the Sulivan grid — wide stucco-fronted terraces, a green with a District line station on one corner, and residents parking that fills by nine.

  • Fulham Broadway

    SW6

The busiest end of the district. Mansion blocks off Vanston Place, flats above the shopping centre, and loading that has to work around match-day road closures at Stamford Bridge.

  • Sands End

    SW6

The old gasworks side, now Imperial Wharf and the Townmead Road developments — service lifts, booked loading bays and concierge desks rather than kerbside parking.

  • Hurlingham

    SW6

Between Ranelagh Gardens and the river. Large red-brick mansion blocks, some listed frontages, and a few streets where the only access is a narrow side entrance.

  • Fulham Reach

    W6 / SW6 edge

Riverside apartments on the Hammersmith side of Fulham Palace Road, where goods lifts are booked in advance and the building manager wants a method statement.

  • Walham Green

    SW6

The North End Road and Lillie Road end — Victorian conversions above shops, narrow stairwells, and streets where a Luton has to drop and shuttle.

Neighbouring ground too — Chelsea over the Fulham Road, Hammersmith up the Palace Road, and Putney or Battersea across the bridges. The full SW6 coverage page.

How it runs

Four stages, and no surprises in any of them

  1. One

You tell us the shape of it

Addresses, roughly how much there is, and anything you already know is going to be awkward — a lift that is out, a bay you cannot park in, a piano.

  2. Two

    We come and look

A survey at your convenience, in person or over video if the place is already half-packed. We walk the route the furniture takes and write the access notes.

  3. Three

    The quote, in writing

What is included, what is not, what the crew and vehicle look like, and what would change the figure. You get it by email and you can ask us about any line of it.

  4. Four

    Moving day

Permits in place, floors covered, furniture wrapped as it comes out. Boxes go into the room you labelled them for, beds get rebuilt, and we take the empty crates away.

Out of the country

Removals from Fulham into Europe

A fair few SW6 moves do not stop at the M25. A posting to Paris, a family place near Valencia, a retirement to the Algarve. We load at your Fulham address, drive down to Folkestone, and the same consignment comes off at the other end — no transfer into somebody else's warehouse halfway.

We also collect from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol when a household is spread across more than one address before it leaves.

How the European moves work

Straight answers

Before you ring us

The things people ask on the first call about a move in Fulham.

Do you cover all of Fulham, or just the SW6 core?

All of SW6 — Parsons Green, Fulham Broadway, Sands End, Hurlingham, Walham Green and the streets between them — plus the Fulham Palace Road edge where SW6 meets W6. We cross into Chelsea, Hammersmith, Putney and Battersea for the other end of a move without treating it as a special request.

How do you work out what a Fulham move costs?

Volume, distance, access and how much packing you want us to do. Access is the one that moves the figure most in SW6: a ground-floor flat with a loading bay outside is a different job from a third-floor mansion flat with no lift and a permit to arrange. That is why we survey before we quote rather than guessing off a room count.

Can you handle a mansion block where the managing agent has rules?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do here. Most Fulham blocks want a copy of our goods-in-transit and public liability cover, sometimes a method statement, and a lift booked into a slot. We deal with the agent and the porter directly so you are not the one relaying messages on moving morning.

Will you sort out the parking?

Where the street needs it, we apply to Hammersmith & Fulham for a bay suspension and put the cones out ahead of the move. Some streets do not need one and a well-chosen loading point does the job. We decide which on the survey — it is one of the things we are looking at while we walk round.

Do you do packing, or is that on us?

Either. Full packing where we bring the materials and do the lot, part-packing where we take the kitchen, the china and the artwork and you handle the wardrobes, or materials only if you would rather do it yourself. Fragile and high-value pieces we would always rather pack ourselves.

Can you store things if the new place is not ready?

Yes. Goods go into sealed containers, inventoried at your address, and stay that way until you ask for them back. It is the usual answer when a chain slips or a renovation overruns — see the storage page for how it works.

Tell us about the move and we’ll take it from there.

Send the addresses, the rough size of the place and anything awkward about the access. We’ll come back with a written quote once we’ve looked at it properly.
